Thank you for Refereeing! Below are the NPL Instructions- 

 

Please arrive 30 minutes before game time.  Please text me if you are running late or missing a crew member.

Matches must be officiated using the 3-person FIFA/USSF Referee System. DO NOT RUN DUALS.   - In the event there are not three (3) registered referees the following is the order of preference:

- One (1) registered referee, one (1) registered assistant referee and one (1) unregistered club linesperson*

- One (1) registered referee and two (2) unregistered club linespersons*

- One (1) registered referee only if no unregistered club linespersons are available or if one registered referee is appropriate for the level of competition *Club linespersons shall be approved by the referee and are only allowed to signal the ball in or out of play.

The preference should always be given to unregistered club linesperson who have no affiliation to the participating teams.*

Substitutions (3.11) 

U11-U14 = Unlimited Substitutions 

U15-U19 = Unlimited Substitutions at a maximum of 3 moments per team per half.

 

Substitution for a head injury/concussion does not count as a moment and can still take place even if the team is out of moments. Water or Hydration Breaks (3.21) 

 

HOME wears light colored, AWAY wears dark colored. Home must change if it cannot be resolved Game Cards and reporting scores (4.1) 

HOME must bring Game Card to match. AWAY is recommended to bring Game Card to match. 

 

3.21 Water or Hydration Breaks. The SAAZ Commissioner, SAAZ Staff, or an appointed delegate of SAAZ may recommend or require Water or Hydration Breaks.

 

If not required, AZDL Coaches may agree prior to the start of the match to have a Water or Hydration Break. This agreement must be communicated to the Referee prior to the match.

 

Any Water or Hydration Break is a maximum of 3 minutes and with a running clock. No stoppage time is allotted.

 

4.2 The AZDL Game Report must be completed in full, signed by both teams after the game and returned to the home team.

If hand writing a Red Card - Write Red Cards on the back of the game report. Please take a picture with your phone

 

Report a Head Injury-Write clearly on the Game Card, give the player pass to the trainer on site.

 

Report Referee Harrassment

  • This form can be used to report if you witness a referee being harassed or abused.

  • This report may be submitted by any person for observation of referees being mistreated or abused by any participant of a match.  This may include but is not limited to players, coaches, directors of coaching, other club representatives, spectators, and parents.

CHECK-IN PROCESS-

Home team coach or team manager will give you the game cards before the game for check in, along with game fees and laminated player passes. 

Clearly mark players in attendance with a check mark or other designation

make sure jersey #’s are clearly marked and correct on the game card

EVERY PLAYER NEEDS A UNIQUE # ON THEIR UNIFORM

make sure all participating players are clearly listed on the game card, with name, birth, and player ID #

Coaches and Team officials must all have clearly visible passes displayed to be in the technical area.

Make sure the game card is signed by each team and returned to the home team after the game.

If you have a head injury or red card, record all information off the game card you will need for your report before returning it after the game.

Be professional.  You must adhere to the US Soccer standards of dress.  Have your shirt tucked in and socks pulled up.

MUST BE CERTIFIED AND IN GOOD STANDING TO WORK MATCHES 

Must wear your current years badge on you receive it

PAID through Gamesource -After the games are complete your assignor will upload games into Gamesource, if you already have an account you will get paid then, if Gamesource does not recognize your email, it will send you instruction on setting up an account.

If you run into issues, speak with the coach but do not confront teams or parents. Be Professional - observe, take notes and report to your assignor and the League Director after the game.
